EBL512 G3 is an analog addressable fire alarm system but also conventional detectors can be used. EBL512 G3 fulfils the EN54 standards EN54 part 2 (Control and Indicating Equipment) and EN54 part 4 (Power supply). Each CIE can communicate with up to 1020 detectors, input and output units. Up to 512 of these units can be alarm points.
Each CIE has four loops for connection of the analog detectors, manual call points, inputs and outputs units etc. Each unit on the loop uses one address.
Each CIE can work standalone or be connected in a TLON (Echelon) network with up to 30 CIEs. The total number of detectors and other loop units in a full system is accordingly more than 30 600. Each CIE has access to all information from all the other CIEs in the same network – system.

EBL512 G3 – a unique concept for early detection but without the unwanted nuisance alarms.

EBL512 G3 is the third generation of the analog EBL fire alarm systems, with unique functionality in co-operation with adaptation to the surrounding environment, self-diagnosis and interactivity. The system can be installed in almost any premises.

  •     Each Analog detector in the system adapts to the surrounding environment. The sensitivity of each Analog detector is constant in spite of the contamination or background particle level. Every long-term change is distinguished from e.g. the short time variations of a smouldering fire.
  •     The self-diagnosis function detects every deviation from the accurate normal condition in the electronic circuits and in the detection chamber. The inter activity function is using information from one, two or a larger number of detectors in the system to provide a more secure detection of a real fire.
  •     A family of state of the art Analog detectors gives the system accurate and noise free information about the occurrence of smoke and temperature changes in the installation.

A large variety of units can be connected to the four loops:

The EBL512 G3 fire alarm system has a set of functions that meets the most stringent requirements relating to fire detection, presentation and measures to be taken in case of a fire.

A service signal is automatically emitted when a smoke detector is contaminated.
A large number of fire detection algorithms are supported by the system and can be set to each Analog detector individually.
Remote control of the system is possible via global networks.
Alert Annunciation function, i.e. the output for the alarm transmitter can be delayed for immediate on site investigation of an alarm.
Disablements, i.e. a zone, alarm point, programmable output and output for the alarm transmitter can be individually disabled.
Internal time channels (the CIE clock) or external time channels (e.g. a timer) can be used for disablements etc.
The outputs are user programmable in a very flexible way, enabling control of external devices, such as alarm devices, extinguishing systems etc.
Up to 16 Display Units such as external Fire Brigade Panels and Alert Annunciation Units can be connected to each CIE.
A Web-server can be connected for information and remote control via internet and/or as a gateway to an external system.

Each CIE, 5000 / 5001, has four loops for up to 1020 addresses, of which 512 can be alarm points. The CIE is equipped with an internal power supply. The batteries are normally placed inside the cabinet. Up to six expansion boards can be connected internally.

Expansion boards:
8 zones expansion board 4580. Expansion board with eight conventional detector zone line inputs.
8 relays expansion board 4581. Expansion board with eight programmable change-over relay contacts.
In and outputs expansion board 4583. Expansion board with three programmable outputs and five programmable inputs. (This board is designed according to German – VdS – requirements.)
I/O Matrix board 4582. A special board that has to be plugged on an application board. 16 programmable switch inputs and 48 programmable LED outputs are available.

The EBL512 G3 TLON Network

The EBL512 G3 CIEs can be connected to a TLON Network (Echelon). Up to 30 nodes (CIEs) can be installed into one network. One of the nodes can be an external PC. A software driver is provided, which gives the PC full control of and access to all EBL CIEs connected to the TLON Network.

Planning, commissioning and installation tool

A modern fire alarm system, such as EBL512 G3, is very complex. In order to get the optimal performance and most cost effective planning, installation, commissioning and maintenance of the system, PEW provides the distributors with a powerful windows based PC tool, WinG3, which is a complete support packet for the EBL512 G3 system. The Site Specific Data is made with WinG3 and is then downloaded to the CIEs.

For the TLON Network programming another windows based PC tool, TLON Manager, is used.

For the Web-server configuration another windows based PC tool, WebG3, is used.
